After payment of one-time only fee, lifetime membership in the Society entitles a member to the following services:
- Negotiation of a low-cost contract with a mortuary;
- Provision of a form: Mortuary Instructions for after-death care. The Instructions (which may be changed at any time), greatly simplify needed action when death occurs;
- Issuance of a wallet card. This identifies the member in an emergency and gives a toll-free phone number to call for mortuary service or information;
- Mailing of a semi-annual newsletter to keep members apprised of new, pertinent laws, new mortuary contracts, Board actions, Annual Meeting notice and other items of interest.
Membership Fees
Membership fees are kept low, in keeping with the objectives of providing access to the Society for those who need it most and of promoting economy in death care.

Optional Contributions
Membership dues help support basic operating expenses. Donations to the General Fund support publication of the Society's Newsletter and other informational and outreach efforts. Memorial donations are invested to produce interest or dividend income. Contributions to the special funds are not an obligation of membership, but are much needed and appreciated.
Note: Contributions, gifts, and fees to the Central Coast Memorial Society are not tax deductible.
CCMS and the contracting mortuary are separate entities, each with a different role. The mortuary provides the actual death care and is a for-profit business. The Society is a non-profit corporation and only contracts with the mortuary to regulate costs for mortuary services. There is no financial link between the two. The member or the estate deals directly with the mortuary for payment for services.
